Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakesh – Ait Ali - Tinzert
The trek begins with a transfer from Marrakesh to Ait Ali, where the adventure commences at an altitude of 1,450 metres. Ascending to Tizi n’ Ait Ali pass at 1,800 metres, trekkers will enjoy the views over the Ouirgan area, renowned for its oil trees and diverse vegetation, including copper-green soil and juniper trees. The day's hike lasts approximately five hours, culminating in a warm evening spent in Tinzert village, where you can relax and savour the local atmosphere.
Day 2: Tinzert – Tizi Oussem
On the second day, the trail leads through beautiful landscapes, crossing paths dotted with traditional Berber shelters. As you ascend to a vantage point, panoramic views of the Ouirgan and Azzaden valleys await. The trek then descends toward the river, lined with juniper, walnut, and apple trees, showcasing the local flora. After enjoying a traditional lunch in Tizian village, trekkers will continue along the river to Tizi Oussem, covering approximately six hours of trekking while experiencing the daily lives of the Berber people.
Day 3: Tizi Oussem - Tizi n’ Mzik Pass - Imlil
The final day begins with breakfast in Tizi Oussem, followed by a visit to some of the village’s oldest structures. The ascent to Tizi Mzik pass at 2,489 metres offers great views of both Imlil and Azzaden valleys. After descending to Azib Mzik, trekkers will visit a beautiful waterfall before returning to Marrakesh. This day also includes approximately six hours of trekking, allowing plenty of time for photographs and relaxation before the journey concludes.
